Customer complaint: microwave keeps running and wont shut off. only way to turn it off is to unplug it. Initial visit (Oct 5) — Matthew B: Reported concern The customer reported that the microwave was not powering on or operating. Assessment During the diagnostic inspection, the microwave was tested by plugging it into an alternative outlet, where it powered on and functioned normally. The technician discovered that the circuit breaker for the microwave's original outlet was turned off. The appliance itself is in working order, and the issue could not be reproduced when the unit was connected to an active power source. Next steps No repairs to the microwave are necessary at this time as the appliance is operating as intended. It is recommended to reset the home's circuit breaker. Return visit (Oct 14) — Matthew B: Assessment During the installation of new micro switches, the switch latch assembly was found to be physically broken, preventing the latch mechanism from operating correctly. Additionally, the relay on the control board is getting stuck, and there is visible damage to the adjacent wiring, causing compromised electrical continuity and intermittent operation. Next steps Order the replacement switch latch assembly and the required control board relay. Confirm compatible part numbers prior to ordering. Upon returning to the job site, replace the broken latch assembly, the board relay, the damaged wiring, and all three micro switches to restore full functionality. Third visit (Oct 22) — Matthew B: Installed both relays on board and installed switch holder. All tested ok. Parts installed: MICRO SWITCH (SMALL SPADES) UNIVERSAL, DU1PU, Door Latch Hook. Outcome: Repaired.
