Initial visit (Oct 30) — Matthew B: Assessment A thorough inspection identified that the damper motor is malfunctioning, continually cycling in an open-and-close loop as it attempts to find its home position. The defrost drain is significantly clogged, causing ice to build up in the freezer compartment and obstruct the freezer drawer. The drawer assembly and magnetic door gaskets were inspected and confirmed to be in good condition and sealing properly. Additionally, heavy dust accumulation was observed on the front vent and inside the main component compartment, which restricts required system airflow. Next steps To resolve these issues, the damper motor must be replaced, and the defrost drain needs to be cleared. An upgraded drain tube should be installed following the manufacturer's service bulletin guidelines. A thorough cleaning and maintenance of the lower component compartment and vent area is also recommended to restore optimal airflow and support system longevity.
